1.To arouse pupils’ interest in learning English through various learning activities.

 

2. To facilitate pupils’ language skills which include listening, speaking, reading and writing through phonics teaching, writing exercises and story reading.

 

3. To arouse pupils’ interest in self-directed learning.

 

4. To strengthen pupils’ reading strategies and their reading habits.

 

5. To enhance pupils’ reading and writing skills, the Space Town Literacy Programme is carried out across P.1-3 classes by the NET, ELTAs and local English teachers.

 

6.To create the STEAM learning atmosphere in our school, teachers apply ‘Artificial Intelligence’ (AI) in the lessons.

7. To stimulate students’ self-learning ability and allow pupils to explore the world, teachers hold lessons in the InnoWorld and use the flight simulator in English lessons.

In July, 2022 Ms Law (LET) and Ms Penny (NET) were invited by the EDB NET Section to be presenters for the NET Induction Programme to share their professional knowledge and experience with the new primary NETS.

 

On Friday 26th August, they conducted a presentation online to discuss the collaboration within a school NET and LET. The topic for the sharing session is “Schools’ Expectations and the Professional Partnership between the NET and Local teachers”. They presented to the audience of new NETs to Hong Kong and other teachers new to the NET Scheme of the EDB.

 

They highlighted the importance of a professional partnership between NET and the LETs and also emphasised how the partnership between them and the rest of the English panel has been effectively developed in our school.

They prepared a PowerPoint which included photos of their involvement and collaboration within our school. They also demonstrated the relationship between LETs and NET through slides showing their co-planning meetings, co-teaching, team co-reflecting, English Panel meetings and assessments.

 

Ms Penny also presented ideas on a typical morning and afternoon as a NET and her involvement in school activities and events such as the Christmas party and English morning assemblies.

 

Another focus of their presentation included the challenges they had faced during Covid-19 and how they overcame them or how they continued to work towards overcoming them.
